Creative Arkansas Community Hub & Exchange (CACHE) today announced the launch of a new artist residency space, CACHE Studios.
Located at 1004 SE 5th Street in Bentonville, CACHE Studios is a collaborative shared space for Northwest Arkansas-based artists.
To celebrate the launch, CACHE is hosting an inaugural ART PARTY on May 21 at the space with performances from several local artists and musicians.
“We look forward to safely welcoming the region's arts community to the space and reconnecting after a tough year, said Allyson Esposito, CACHE executive director. “Over the next several years, CACHE will develop a vision for the space while planning and piloting programs to develop local creative talent.”
ART PARTY will feature a combination of livestream and in-person art events for the ribbon-cutting ceremony of CACHE Studios.
“It’s time to reawaken our creative community and honor local artists, creative practices and pursuits,” said Kat Wilson, manager of CACHE Studios. “CACHE Studios is where we will create acts of art together once again.”
Livestream events begin at 9 a.m. as five artists participate in an all-day Iron Chef-style project constructing a #SelfieThrone – an interactive photography project that enables anyone with a smart phone to participate in portrait-making on a themed professional set.
Artist Kat Wilson, sculptor Griffin Loop, neon artist Derek Maxey, fiber artist Trisha Guting and projection mapping artist Rumwolf will work together until 9:30 p.m., when the #SelfieThrone will open to members of the public for photos.
The live, in-person portion kicks off at 6 p.m. with the ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by live musical performances by Honey Collective, Joe Rinaldo Heffernan and BAANG.
Audiences for the musical acts will gather outdoors, and musicians will perform in the open garage-door style doorways of CACHE Studios.
An afterparty with DJs supplied by KOBV will go until midnight.
All events will be livestreamed on Facebook and Instagram.
Specialty cocktails and mocktails themed to fit each musical act will be available and curated byPinkHouse Alchemy.
Masks are encouraged.
